I interviewed two international students on their current situation and plans for summer quarter. Kana Iwamoto is from Japan and Vy Le is from Vietnam.
Please introduce yourself. Where are you right now during this pandemic?
KN: Hi my name is Kana and I am an international student from Japan. I am pursuing an associate degree at OC in order to transfer to University. I am currently in Japan right now due to coronavirus.
VL: Hi, my name is Vy Le, I am an international student from Vietnam. This is my third quarter at OC. Right now, I am in Texas with my aunt
How is the situation where you are staying right now?
KN: When I first arrived in Japan, the situation was worse but it’s getting better now after lockdown.
VL: I heard from my aunt that in Frisco where I live right now the spreading of the virus is not too fast and everything seem to be under control.
What is your plan for Summer classes? Are you planning to come back to WA or not?
KN: I’m going to take summer class online, so I won’t be coming back to WA because I would take this opportunity to save up money for University tuition.
VL: For summer quarter I’m going to take 2 online classes, even though it’s hard to study online for me. I will not be back to WA unless this pandemic ends.
