Speaking with Warren Avenue 1st Vice President of Pee Wee’s Chris Jamieson, he told me all of the major changes coming to Warren Avenue Park and Playfield. Currently construction is underway for renovations and it will be closed through Fall of 2020. Help from the community will allow Warren Avenue football team, the Warren Ave Knights to utilize other fields from local elementary schools for practice until the renovations are complete.
Renovation work will include: new accessible paths, a paved parking lot, new LED sports field lighting, a new spectator seating area, a new picnic shelter, a new children’s playground and restroom, and a revamped entry way from personalized bricks purchased by the community. All of the renovations are a part of Mayor Greg Wheeler’s initiatives for 2020.
Funding and project partners include: Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office, Washington Department of Commerce, Warren Avenue Pee Wee Association, Bremerton Parks Foundation and Bremerton Public Works Department.
The city of Bremerton looks forward to announcing and reopening Warren Avenue Park and Playfield in Fall 2020!
